These tasty little nuggets are slow roasted to ensure they are free from raw bacteria’s. So why not raw? Even though raw seems to be all the rage, raw meat is a bacteria breeding ground! In order to make raw/freeze dried pet treats safe, they have to undergo a chemical process called 'denaturing'. Because denaturing is a process and not an ingredient, you won't find it on the ingredient list. We prefer to roast our meat low-n-slow and then freeze dry it similar to how we make our own food!
