Scandia Golf & Games Has Been Modernized

It had been about two years since we had gone to our oldest and most infamous arcade in Kelowna. Scandia Golf & Games has been around for decades and they have slowly been making changes over the years to stay updated and modern. Our latest visit has shown us some huge changes and they have added some new games and exciting renovations to encourage return customers and tourists when they visit the Okanagan. 

There is no longer a token system in place for the games which is really nice since we were always dropping them and the machines were constantly eating your money or not spitting out tickets when you won. Now every game is retrofitted for game cards and you scan them to play and then your winnings are applied to your cards. Much easier to track and so much simpler to keep clean. We love how long the air hockey lasts and how much fun it is to have competitions with the family. It’s so nice to enjoy some old fashioned games along with the newer and more modern ones.

They even have those cool cotton candy machines you see online in places like Japan. They make simple shapes and flavours and you get to watch it get made.

They still have lots of basic arcade games and old school pinball which is nice as well. I love the ones that you can ride and they even have VR games that put you into a whole new world.

We love ripping around on the go karts with our kids. They are one of the best experiences for the whole family. They are safe, stay at a steady speed, and the kids and adults have a wonderful time.

The prizes are never as good as you hope they are going to be. You can definitely find all the prizes at the local dollar store for a buck or two but when you use your credits that you win be prepared to use around $20 worth of credits for a $2 prize. The real reward is getting to play the games and enjoy time with your family.

We also really enjoy the mini golf which is both indoor and outdoor, the go karts, the batting cages, the concession, as well as the adorable decor and vibrant surroundings. If you are looking for something exciting to do with the family while you are in the Okanagan I would highly suggest visiting Scandia Golf & Games.
