Easy Clay Slime Recipe

Slime is one of my favourite things to make with my kids and my daycare kids. Not only do they enjoy the fun of creating something by pouring and measuring but it has neat textures for sensory discovery.

One of our favourites we actually discovered by running out of glue and substituting what we had on hand. We have messed with the measurements many times and come up with all kinds of amazing textures so try this base starting point and then see what you come up with by adding food colouring, glitter, pompoms, and even changing ingredients!

Check out our arts and crafts section for some amazing frugal daycare and at home play ideas and activities!

We have some very easy and adorable St. Patrick’s Day activities as well!

SLIME INGREDIENTS:
  1. 1/2 cup of shaving cream.
  2. 1/2 tsp baking soda.
  3. Food coloring.
  4. 2 oz of soft modeling clay.
  5. 1 tbsp of saline solution
Simply place the clay into a large bowl, add shaving cream, saline, baking soda and begin to combine, once the ingredients combine slightly add food colouring. After the slime is completely combined you can add glitter and other fun ingredients!

I prefer this slime recipe to play dough and kinetic sand because it smells amazing and it is very stretchy! Always store in an air tight container or properly sealed bag and make sure to play with it regularly or it will harden or begin to go bad.
