How to style your activewear

You've spent all that time working on your body, so why not show it off? But there are some mistakes to avoid when styling sportswear. Here are some quick tips for getting the look you want in five easy steps.

1) Keep it simple

The most important part of wearing activewear is feeling comfortable and confident. That means no fussy layers or complicated patterns - this isn't going to be a LBD situation. Pick pieces that fit well, make you feel good about yourself and go from there! If you can wear them before and after a workout without changing anything else, then they'll probably work great as a style piece too!

2) Mix up textures & patterns

On the other side of the coin, you don't have to be an all-black-everything type of girl to wear activewear pieces. Try varying the textures you use for different looks. Use this as a chance to experiment with pieces that work well together or that you've wanted to try but weren't sure how - just because they're activewear doesn't mean you shouldn't play around!

3) Layer up

One of the best ways to style your activewear is by layering other things on top of them. This works especially well with hoodies and jackets but can also be done with t-shirts for a more casual look. The possibilities are endless - smarten up a pair of leggings and sneakers by throwing on a blazer and heels or use a hoodie as the base for an interesting, body suit or unitard.

4) Dress up your sneakers

Sneakers are one of the most versatile pieces you can own, especially when it comes to activewear! Sneakers don't have to be reserved for casual looks; they work perfectly with more formal styles too. They give you that practical edge without compromising on style - like wearing heels with your activewear but not feeling like you're at work.

5) Add accents to make them street-worthy

The final step is all about accentuating those sporty pieces, so they look great outside of the gym too. Add layers or shoes that aren't necessarily 'sporty', but still fit well with your current look. You can even try accessorising with hats, bags, and sunglasses for an even more stylish finish.

Ready to get active?

Now that you've mastered the art of styling your activewear, it's time to start putting them into action. Get out there and exercise - because nobody looks good in all black when they're dripping with sweat!
