As the holiday season approaches many people are looking for homemade, heartfelt and low-cost gifts to give to friends and family. For those in your life who enjoy smelling good, making soap can be a great gift.
Perfume is a popular gift around the holidays, so why not make your DIY soap smell like perfumes? FragranceX put together a handy list of different essential oil blends that combine to resemble the smell of famous perfumes.
From Chanel No. 5 to Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue, there’s a soap for everyone on your list. All you have to do is use the melt and pour method to make this soap — no lye is involved!
So, how do you make melt and pour soap? It’s actually quite easy. You simply break apart pre-made soap that you can buy at the craft’s store. From there, melt the soap pieces, mix them with your desired ingredients and pour the mixture into a mold.
Once it’s had a chance to set for a few days you can cut the soap up and wrap them as you prefer! I like to wrap them in cellophane wraps tied with ribbons.
