Are you looking for a very easy but super adorable gift you and your kids can make for the teachers in your lives? Look no further this is a “bear”y cute way to say thank you even if you don’t have a lot of time. Let's face it these teachers spend every week day with your child learning with them and growing with them shaping them into responsible little humans, they deserve to be appreciated no matter how small the gesture!
Bear Shaped Sugar Cookies!
1 1/2 cup margarine
2 cups white sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
5 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
In a large bowl, cream together margarine and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cover, and chill dough for at least half hour.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Roll out dough on floured surface to 1/2 inch thick. Cut into shapes with any cookie cutter. Place cookies 1 inch apart on cookie sheets.
Bake 6 to 8 minutes in preheated oven. Cool completely.
These adorable cookies can be glazed with a royal icing or butter cream in any colour. I sent mine off to the teachers in cute little candle holders with notes that said "Thank you for a "Bear"y good year! They were received very well by the teachers. You could just as easily place them in baggies or boxes for presentation.
Thank you to all the teachers out there as a daycare owner I completely understand how hard your days can be. Kudos to you and everything you do you are amazing! Have an amazing summer!
