The Best Apple Sauce Recipe

I have created the best apple sauce recipe yet. Not only is it delicious but you can change it up constantly and put it in lunches all year round and replace those expensive squeeze pouches the kids love so much. This is my strawberry banana version:
  • 8 cups apples (peeled and chopped)
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries & bananas
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
In a large saucepan mix together the apples and lemon juice. Let them cook down for about 10 minutes on medium with a lid on.

Add the sugar, strawberries and bananas and let them cook for another 20 minutes or until apples are soft.

Take the mixture off the heat and let cool. When cooled pour into food processor or blender and blend until smooth.

This recipe can be played with by adding any fruit or veggies you like and changing up the sweetness. If your looking to amp up the health factor you can add honey instead of sugar.

You can put this sauce into reusable lunch containers or reusable squeeze pouches over the next week or put the containers in the freezer and they will be good for up to 6 months!
